Terminology

This catalog sticks rather consistently to referring to the vertical flute as the "Common Flute' and the transverse flute as the "German Flute" - both in section titles and work titles. It is worth noting that, at one point, "German Flute" is shortened to "G Flute" but that appears to have been due to a spacing issue rather than an attempt at informality.
