New Music: Engraved, Printed, and Sold by John Preston (1781)
About
|
This single-page catalog contains a list of all music published by John Preston in 1781, likely a publisher and bookshop owner in London. This short catalog would have been included as the last page of other works published by the company.

Terminology
|
This catalog sticks rather consistently to referring to the vertical flute as the "Common Flute' and the transverse flute as the "German Flute" - both in section titles and work titles. It is worth noting that, at one point, "German Flute" is shortened to "G Flute" but that appears to have been due to a spacing issue rather than an attempt at informality.
